Be Creative

My fiancé had got me some flowers and they had come to the end of their life after 2 weeks.

I didn’t want to just throw them in the bin straight away, so I took them outside, styled them on my gold reflector and shot away.

Here’s some of my faves.

Horsey Beach + Seal Pups

Back in December (I know it was ages ago), I went to Horsey to see the Seal Pups, they have now roped off the beach so you can just walk along the dunes and see the seals from above, which I’m so glad about, as it’s the seals environment and so many people just got a bit too close to them.

With a zoom lens it didn’t feel like I was really all that far away from them anyway.

It was a bit of a rainy day, lots of puddles to splash in, resulting in very wet feet as I discovered my boots had the tiniest of holes in!

The sun was low, so there was that frosty winter sun atmosphere.

Here’s a few of my favourites.

You shall go to the prom

Its not just the ticket to get into the prom, its the car, make up, hair, tan, shoes, accessories and of course the all important dress, this can set parents back a couple of hundred pounds and that’s just the dress.

Behind the glitz, glam and excitement of your high school prom there’s a lots of pressure for girls to look perfect, with salon done hair, perfect make up, the latest bag and accessories and a show stopping dress. For some this is all very daunting, the pressure to look amazing or the household funds just don’t stretch far enough, this is what inspired Tracey to set up Prom Nation. This day enables girls over the county to get their perfect prom dress, shoes and accessories for just a few pounds with all the money going back to Break Charity to help local children and families. There’s hair, make-up and styling advice throughout the day to create the ultimate girls day out experience.

When Tracey asked me if I would photograph the event, I jumped at the chance,it meant so much to me as an individual and as an owner of a new small business to be asked to be involved in such a fun and inspiring event whilst raising money for charity.

Friday night I saw Tracey on the news, and this inspired me to donate some of my own dresses. I immediately sent Tracey a message asking if she still wanted donations, so I got raiding my wardrobe and drove over to Break on Saturday to meet Tracey and spent a lovely couple of hours with Tracey photographing sneak peaks of the gorgeous dresses and accessories.

One of these donations was my own prom dress, that I have kept ever since I wore it 9 years ago, I was lucky enough to be left some money by my adopted nanny that I used to buy my dress, she was a dressmaker so it just felt right to use this money to buy my prom dress. If she hadn’t have kindly given me that money I wouldn’t have had a dress to go to prom in, so now its time for me to pass on that gift to another deserving girl who will go to the ball and help to raise money for children and families over Norfolk.

The event is taking place 12/04/18, 10am – 5pm at Bar 11, Norwich.

Highlodge, Thetford Forest

I’ve done a couple of shoots at Highlodge, one very wet shoot, luckily all the trees sheltered us!

It’s a perfect place for photoshoots with children, you can break it up with playing on the play park and walking along the trail to find all the wooden animals.

Lots of opportunity to capture action, adventure and fun.

Here’s some of my favourites from one of my sunnier shoots at Highlodge.

Urban Jungle

Urban jungle is heaven for any cactus & succulent fan, so when I first heard about this place I knew my sister would love it.

Me & my sister headed over to Urban Jungle, to check it out, it didn’t disappoint, so many different plants to look at so many different shapes and textures, a photographers heaven to shoot.

While we were there, I couldn’t resist a mini shoot with my sister. While we were there, it would have been rude not to stop for a hot drink and a slice of delicious homemade cake from the cafe, which is set within the ‘Jungle’, you really do feel like you’re somewhere tropical.

Here’s some of my faves.

Pets are such a big part of our families, they have so much love to give and become another family member.

Growing up, our family had lots of pets, my love for cats was born when I was about 9, I remember crazing my parents for a cat.

About a year later I inherited the family cat, Kelly from my great-grandparents. I adored this cat, she lived until 18, so pretty old for a cat!

Here’s some of my favourites, family pets, pets I’ve met on photo shoots and some lovely horses I saw on a drive home from a photo shoot, and I just had to stop and meet them.

Whitlingham Lake

I love going for walks around Whitlingham Lake, it’s a little gem that’s just outside the hustle and bustle of the city, lovely for weekend walks, running, cycling, water sports and after all that you can have a well earned rest at the information centre and cafe with a hot drink and a delicious piece of cake.

Here’s some of my favourites from one of my walks.

This was just a quick shoot I assembled at home with my beautiful engagement ring and some flowers I had got from the supermarket.

I just wanted to do a very quick and simple styled shoot to show how lovely it is to capture the floral arrangements on your wedding day.

It’s something Bride & Grooms spend a lot of money on for their big day but unfortunately something you can’t keep in their original state, so it’s a great idea to get lots of photos of your bouquet and other flowers and floral arrangements.
