Prom Nation Pick a dress event

Last month I was given the privilege of photographing the Prom Nation, Pick A Dress Event at Bar 11, Norwich.

This event was created and organised by Tracey, a real life fairy godmother who granted lots of girls wishes of going to the prom true. This came after she overheard a conversation between some girls and one of them said she wouldn’t be able to go to the prom because her parents couldn’t afford it.

This was such a fabulous event which provided lots of girls with a dress and accessories for their upcoming prom and also raised lots of money for norfolk charity Break.

The event was hosted at Bar 11, and had lots of local hair and beauty experts on hand to offer makeovers, braids, up-do’s and nails, there was also a seamstress, body confidence expert and florist on hand to offer all the advice you need for this special night.

I loved photographing this event, it was lovely to see so many young girls and their parents and friends have such a fun day out and also to meet lots of lovely local suppliers.

This is proof that team work really does make the dream work everyone who was involved in this event there and behind the scenes really pulled together and worked as a team.

Here’s some of my favourites from the day.

A couple of months ago, I was asked to photograph 5 month old Max, on an at home Photoshoot, I usually photograph on location, so this was something different for me.

I still adopted my usual photo journalistic and documentary style but in the comfort of someone’s home, it was lovely to capture real moments in my lovely clients own environments.

Max was a pleasure to photograph, so smiley, happy and the most joyful little laugh, it was lovely that Max’s Mum got involved too, I captured some beautiful moments between them that really showed their unbreakable bond, Max’s Mum also asked me to get some shots of her breastfeeding Max, which is such a personal and close moment between mother and baby, it was an honour to be asked to capture such a natural moment.

Here’s some of my favourite moments from this Photoshoot, it was difficult to choose.

A few weekends ago I met little Elliott with his mummy & daddy at Foxley Woods, a Norfolk Wildlife Trust location.

I picked this location because of the Bluebells and was hoping for some bright sunshine weaving through the woods, unfortunately the day we picked was very very rainy.

Elliott totally embraced the rainy British weather, he had the cutest pair of Joules welly’s on and loved splashing in the puddles, no forgetting his awesome dinosaur umbrella!

Little Elliott was on the hunt for ‘stick-man’, one of my favourite photos from this shoot is of Elliott giving ‘stick-man’ a kiss, completely unprompted, I love childrens imagination!

Despite the rain and mud, it was a successful shoot, so here’s some of my favourites.
