Urban Jungle

Urban jungle is heaven for any cactus & succulent fan, so when I first heard about this place I knew my sister would love it.

Me & my sister headed over to Urban Jungle, to check it out, it didn’t disappoint, so many different plants to look at so many different shapes and textures, a photographers heaven to shoot.

While we were there, I couldn’t resist a mini shoot with my sister. While we were there, it would have been rude not to stop for a hot drink and a slice of delicious homemade cake from the cafe, which is set within the ‘Jungle’, you really do feel like you’re somewhere tropical.

Here’s some of my faves.

Pets are such a big part of our families, they have so much love to give and become another family member.

Growing up, our family had lots of pets, my love for cats was born when I was about 9, I remember crazing my parents for a cat.

About a year later I inherited the family cat, Kelly from my great-grandparents. I adored this cat, she lived until 18, so pretty old for a cat!

Here’s some of my favourites, family pets, pets I’ve met on photo shoots and some lovely horses I saw on a drive home from a photo shoot, and I just had to stop and meet them.

Whitlingham Lake

I love going for walks around Whitlingham Lake, it’s a little gem that’s just outside the hustle and bustle of the city, lovely for weekend walks, running, cycling, water sports and after all that you can have a well earned rest at the information centre and cafe with a hot drink and a delicious piece of cake.

Here’s some of my favourites from one of my walks.

This was just a quick shoot I assembled at home with my beautiful engagement ring and some flowers I had got from the supermarket.

I just wanted to do a very quick and simple styled shoot to show how lovely it is to capture the floral arrangements on your wedding day.

It’s something Bride & Grooms spend a lot of money on for their big day but unfortunately something you can’t keep in their original state, so it’s a great idea to get lots of photos of your bouquet and other flowers and floral arrangements.

Here’s a few of my favourites

Mr & Mrs Leverton

Back in August last year, I was honoured to be asked to photograph my first wedding.

My couple were having a later ceremony, so I arrived at the couples home at 1pm the bride, bridesmaids (the brides 2 daughters) and the mother of the bride were all busy having their hair and make up done.

Once all the preparations had finished, was the moment the dress went on, it was just perfect for the summers day we had white Grecian style dress with beautiful bead and lace detail on the top. The bridesmaids were so excited to see their mum get married and they certainly looked the part in their gorgeous sequin dresses which shine perfectly in the sunshine.

The Bride and her mum were driven to the ceremony in a pretty impressive Bentley.

The ceremony was an intimate affair held at Diss Registry Office with the bride and grooms closest family and friends.

The new Mr & Mrs Leverton then headed to the reception to celebrate with their family and friends.

Back in August the Bride was expecting a new addition to their family, I couldn’t help but feature her little bump in these photos, since then they have welcomed their new arrival.

Congratulations to you all and best wishes as a new family of 5.

A new venture

Since I made the decision in the middle of 2017 to make my hobby into a new business venture, I have visited so many more places.

Lots of places that are right on my doorstep that I kept saying I must visit one weekend, but never did because life just gets in the way, I have now been.

When I first decided to embark on this new adventure alongside my full time job, I knew I needed a portfolio before I could go any further, I was a bit scared to advertise and ask people I didn’t know to model for me at first, I was worried the photos wouldn’t be good enough to give to the people I had asked to model.

However I am lucky enough to have a gorgeous sister who very kindly agreed to model for me on quite a few occasions.

After a few months this really helped my confidence grow, I then felt I needed to make my portfolio more diverse different genders and ages, so I then advertised asking for models, I was apprehensive at first but the response I got was fantastic.

All of those people who gave up their time to help me grow my small business, I will always be grateful to you all and really hope that you enjoy your photos and the memories they hold for you and your families.

These are some photos from one of my first photo shoots at Mousehold Heath (somewhere I kept meaning to walk round , I finally got there with my camera!)

Grant Thornton Christmas Party

Back in December I kicked off the festive season by photographing Grant Thornton’s Christmas Party at Norwich City Football Club.
I was greeted by the biggest Christmas tree I had ever seen in the reception of the football club which had been beautifully decorated by labelle flowers.
The Top of the City Function Room was looking super festive ready for the party, which started with a gorgeous 3 course meal from Delia’s and magic to keep the guests entertained between courses from the brilliant Ed Crafer.
The room had been transformed into a winter wonderland with another gorgeous Christmas tree from labelle flowers, beautiful umbrella Christmas trees covered with snow and decorations from The Banqueting Hire Service.
The winter themed decorations continued to the tables with beautiful bauble filled martini glass centre pieces from The Banqueting Hire Service.
Venue – Top of the City, Norwich City Football Club
Magician – Ed Crafer
Florist – Labelle flowers
Hire Company – The Banqueting Hire Service
