You shall go to the ball

I just had to use this opportunity to title a blog post with a Disney quote!

Anyway enough of my love for all things Disney, over the festive season my sister went to her school winter formal, my stepmum was on hair and make up duty (as the hairdresser and MUA in the family) and I took the opportunity to take some getting ready shots.

My family are quite used to this now, any opportunity and I’m there with my camera, I never really switch off looking for new opportunities, I always regret it when I go somewhere and haven’t taken my camera with me, so usually it’s me and my camera in tow, with my fiancé carrying all the other bags!

These are just a few snaps, of me experimenting with different angle and capturing the Christmas fairy lights.

Getting ready photos are such a lovely way to tell the whole story of the day from start to finish, these can be lovely for weddings, hen do’s, special birthdays or that just because celebrations with your girls.

Byfords of Holt

I’m a bit behind on my blogging, but this means that you get to see lots of festive photos of the beautiful Christmas lights in Holt, which will hopefully cheer up a dreary January Monday.

Back in November, my parents surprised my fiancé and I with a nights stay, dinner & breakfast at Byfords for our birthdays.

We have had dinner at Byfords before but never stayed there, it certainly didn’t disappoint, it was a very welcome relaxing stay for the end of November before the madness of December and the festive season began.

On arrival we got to choose a drink and cake from the cafe, in still thinking about the delicious white chocolate fridge cake we ate, luckily my fiancé doesn’t have much of a sweet tooth so I got to have half of his cake too!

The room was huge and with its original features as well, a real home away from home with the big cosy bed and blankets and the gorgeous bathroom and all of the lovely toiletries that were provided.

We went for a walk around Holt and the Christmas lights really are beautiful every street, shop and little courtyard is full of lights.

We then retired back to Byfords for the evening for our meal (which was delicious) we were sat in the window seat which I had photographed from the outside because it was so beautifully decorated with candles, Christmas foliage and fake snow.

We had such a lovely stay here, the room, cake, tea, dinner and breakfast were so worth the visit and excellent service from all the staff, super friendly and welcoming.

This was an excellent start to the festive season.

Have a look at some of my favourites from our little trip.

In December we celebrated my fiancé’s 30th birthday, the first two weekends were spent celebrating (because you’re only 30 once!) the celebrations started with a weekend trip to Cambridge.

It was a really chilled weekend we had a walk around the Mill Lane Christmas Fair which is well worth putting on your list of Christmas fairs to visit this year, make sure you still into the evening too as the festivities continue with a procession in the street with lots of singing and dancing.

We ended the weekend with the most delicious meal at The Riverbar Steakhouse, with a gorgeous view of the River with all the punting boats parked up.

If your New Years resolution is to travel more or to just explore more locally, take along your camera and start snapping away, exploring and travelling gives you so many new memories and experiences, but capturing them on camera makes those memories last a lifetime.

Here’s some of my favourite photos from my trip.

Norwich Christmas Lights

I absolutely love Christmas and all the festivities in the lead up.

This year I kicked off the festive season by going to see the Christmas Light Switch On in Norwich with family.

Christmas lights just make everything look so much more beautiful and magical.

The light tunnel is a definite highlight for me and for Norwich, I think the lights are up for a few more days if you haven’t already go and check them out.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and best wishes for 2018.
